Choose your fit
Denim trends come and go, but these are the classics that you'll see every year
Straight
This is the original jeans cut. It’s cut more or less the same through the leg for a closer fit on the thighs and a looser fit on the knees and calves.

Key styles: Levi’s 501, Diesel Waykee, Hilfiger Denim Ryan
Slim
Offers a more tailored fit that lightly hugs the thighs, knees and calves; loosening at the ankles
Ideal if you…
Like a leaner look without being too restrictive
Have a slimmer frame
Key styles: Levi’s 511, John Lewis & Partners Maida Vale, Denham Razor
Skinny
Typically cut from stretch cotton with a body-hugging fit on thighs, legs and ankles.
Ideal if you…
Like to keep up with trends
Have a slimmer frame
Key styles: All Saints Raveline, Diesel Thommer, Levi’s 510
Tapered
Cut close to the thigh and slim on the calf to create a narrower leg opening
Ideal if you…
Have larger thighs
Need something a little smarter
Key styles: Diesel Buster, Edwin ED-45, Levi’s 512
Caring for your jeans
- Always check the wash care label first
- Delay washing your new jeans as long as you can
- Wash and air dry inside-out - you’ll save water, energy and time.
- Use a gentle or cold wash cycle
- Wash before hemming to allow for any initial shrinking
- Avoid drying jeans in direct sunlight as this can cause fading
